Sash balances
A sash balance is a spring-loaded device, usually a spring balance or tape balance which is used to counterbalance a sash in a double-hung window, eliminating the need for sash weights, sash cords, or pulleys.
Standard D type
Standard D type sash balances are light duty and are general purpose for both domestic and commercial applications. These type of sash balances are manufactured in 3 weight groups that are suitable for sash windows with glazed weights of no more than 18.15kgs (40lbs).
Spiral sash balances
Spiral sash balances combine a stainless steel rod torsion and tension springs, producing a self-contained balancing device, which is capable of maintaining the equilibrium of a sash window at any point in the travel of the sash window.
